Our garden....

We won't let living in the city stop us from gardening! The base commissary was running a sale on plants....so Dad bought a ton! :) And, we are going to give it a go. We tried to have a garden here in the base housing but, they wouldn't let us. Dad had the idea to just do it at his work, which was openly accepted by all his co-workers. It's nice to have a good place to garden. The place we picked is some what amusing. It's very "military-base" looking, with razor wire and "flammable" stickers. But, no worries our garden is safe from critters. :)

The afore mentioned, "military garden." But, yes, like I said....this should keep the bunnies away. :)

Mom playing in dirt....love it!

Baby lettuce...

Peppers

Giving it some good coverage

Me posing with the cucumbers. :)

 Bella the big helper

Yeah, me smiling and being a ham while Dakota keeps working. ;)

Worker and a worker making the worker work. :) Oh, look!...we match...even the shoes. :) How cute! :)

We pray that the Lord will bless our little garden and help the plants to bare fruit. We have peppers, green and red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash. We are looking forward to the harvest!

Happy Birthday Dad!!.....

Happy 35th to Dad!
We love you so much.......
Thanks for being the bestest Dad ever! You mean a lot to us.

The weather was pretty yukky, so we had to stay inside. :( But, we still had a fun time.
(this is going to be short and sweet) :)

 True...true... :)

The Man of Honor

His chosen meal....Very...."Dadish"  :)

Kade taking his swing at the pinata.

It wasn't long after this that the candy was gathered and hidden to be rationed out. :)

To break a pinata...you first have to break the broom you're hitting it with and along with that comes some pulverized candy.

Enjoying the pulverized candy...

Dad should feel privileged, this is our 100th post! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Just thought I'd share real quick a picture of Kade....that made us laugh. :)

Picture taken on the subway.
His expression is so funny! Everytime we go out and about in the city Kade gets his "game-face" on and gets all serious. :) (Like above) So cute!!
Also, they all have their hands the same way. :) Priceless! lol.....

Dongdaemun and Yeouido....

Easter weekend we went to Dongdaemun, on Saturday, and Yeouido, on Sunday.
The weather has finally been warming up and it's been gorgeous lately. The trees, bushes, and flowers have all started to bloom. So, indeed...it's Spring. So, with all that said that is why we wanted to get out and enjoy it all. ;)
Dondaemun was a lot of fun. We went to see the baking market, but didn't see much of that before we got distracted with the food market across the street, which was so interesting! It's fun sometimes to just explore and not have a tight schedule....just to walk around and go from this thing to that. :)
The stuff we experienced was true Korea. The extreme heart of Korea.... :) At least I think so...
The food market was mainly a dried fish market. It didn't smell like fish at all....although it was filled with fish. :) I've never seen so many piles of dried seafood!
Yeouido was nice and relaxing. We took a picnic and went out to see the Cherry blossoms, but they weren't in bloom yet. So, we'll have to go back later...and picnic again!! :)
We rented a tandem bike and rode around the park for awhile. That was a blast! It actually took a bit of coordination and a different sort of balance, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.

Alrighty....on to the pictures.

Our "Mass of humanity" :)

To save space the gas stations over here often have their gas pumps hanging from the ceiling. That way you can just pull in any way and fill up and not have to have all the space for cars to move and such.

The dried fish market

Squashed fish. :)

Nothing scary...just beans.

Now this is scary. :)

Yummy...yummy!! :P

Sweet baby

Fish heads anyone??

I think these grossed me out the most.....for one thing they are still whole. So, like all their insides are still inside. At least I think that's how it is......I saw the lady doing it and she wasn't gutting it. :P So, yeah....they are hung up to dry with all their insides. :P That's just kind of gross to me. ;)

Now this was good....Dried crab. :)

A little alley

Why the feet?

We all guessed that this was intestines. If you have a better idea....than let us know. Otherwise I think it's intestines. :) That's what it looks like to me!

Feet and head....why?...why can't they just eat plain strips of bacon. :) Could you imagine having this head on your plate and just chowing down. :) lol....
The sausage looking thing in the background we believe it is what they call sundae. It's a pig intestine filled with pig's blood and noodles....sometimes rice. :) Yeah...yum, yum! Eat it up! :/

The street food alley.

Beautifully cut and arranged dried squid and fish. :) Dried Squid never looked so pretty.

Grubs....

Now the next part is of Sunday~~

Everybody loves Kade and Bella. :)

Yeouido Park

Dakota and I on the tandem bike. ;) Mom said that the tandem bike has a lot of spiritual application. ;) The person in front is the leader and you have to totally rely on him to go the right way and make the right turns. You also can't see around the person in front. So, there's your bible lesson for today. :)

Some girls came by and gave us some real Easter eggs. They were so sweet. Mom told them "thank you" in Korean and they just laughed....we must sound really funny to them when we try to speak Korean. :)

Yummy chicken teriyaki...on a stick!!

Cappuccino truck! The best!! Better than a coffee shop......

We had a great weekend! And I'm looking forward to the picnic next weekend...
when we go see the Cherry Blossoms again.

Here's a nice long video Dakota made.....

Have a great week!!

Balls and pins.....

After the excitment of seeing President Obama that one Sunday we all went over to the bowling alley for some more excitment. :)
We haven't been bowling as a family in quite a while, so we had a lot of fun!

Our very fashionable shoes!!

Kade had a great score....of course...him and Bella had their own lane with bumpers...but still...he did awesome. :)

Love the shirt, Bro!!

Bowling pictures are like volleyball pictures....you get the craziest poses. :) (Nice form though!!)

Ka-ploo-ie!! :)

The ball is supossed to stay on the rack, dearies.... :)

Have a good week....
