Camping on Mother's Day....



 For Mother's Day, we went up to Daegu to go camping and to just get out of the city for a few days. :)

My mom is pretty awesome! I just thought I'd shout that to the world. :) She is amazing at planning and preparing healthy food for us, she is the only white mom I know that can do black hair like none other, she is such an example to me when I come downstairs and see her reading her bible on the couch. She is always wanting to learn new things and is putting her knowledge to good use. Yep!...I have the best mom ever! :)

 The week that we went was Buddha's birthday...so this area by the Buddha statues was all decorated.

 

Yeah! I don't know why we bring food, when we could just have Bella smile at people and they'd practically throw her food! :) This is all her yummies she accumulated while hiking up the mountain!

 

The crazy "stairs." It was an almost 4 mile hike (one way) and quite tough. Kade and Bella did the whole thing!!

Mmmmmm! There is something magical and amazing about cooking when you are camping! It tastes so awesome. Dad was our main cook. He is such a great outdoor cooker! He loves to grill and do all that stuff. So, it was all magically and manfully delicious! ;)

 This was Dakota's bed. The rest of us slept in the tiny tent....

Dad trying to explain to a group of rowdy rambunctious Korean kids how to play Bocce. They spoke no English. I think they sort of understood it.....but after throwing the ball a few times it just turned into "I'll throw this ball as hard as I can and see if people get out of the way." Dad later decided that Bocce balls in these kids hands were dangerous and decided to put the balls away before they killed somebody. :) Yeah, they decided to chuck rocks at a sign instead!

Korean Folk Village

 

The Suwon Korean Folk Village is the Williamsburg of Korea. It's a traditional village filled with old Korean culture. You feel like you step back in time when you walk around all the old houses and courtyards. Except for all the Koreans walking around typing on their iphones. :)

It's so interesting to have a look at old Korean culture and to experience and almost feel as if you were there. The Korean Folk Village was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed it.

Happy birthday Dad

We celebrated Dad's 36th birthday last week. I'm so thankful to have a Dad like my Dad. I wouldn't know what to do without him. I've always been a Daddy's girl. When I was little going hunting and fishing was still fun even if we didn't catch anything. Going to work with Dad at his weather station when he worked night shifts was a thrill to my little heart. :) I still enjoy every moment I get to spend with Dad. I love to go with him to his PT as we play football, frisbee, and run up mountains together. I can't wait till we get back to the states and we can go hunting again...and learn to trap. :) I love my Dad so much and I can't imagine life without him.....

 

 

 We started the birthday morning with a special breakfast of cinnamon rolls, sausage, and coffee. :)

It was a beautiful day so we packed our picnic bag and headed out for a hike. Dad stopped by this guys stand to buy some of his Kimbap.

 

 

This was the first day it was warm enough to wear short sleeves.

Dad's dessert of choice. Homemade ice cream, homemade chocolate syrup, homemade brownies, homemade whipped cream, and homemade raspberry sauce. :) It was the best "Brownie Earthquake" ever!!
